   The intent of this page is to provide guidance to various computer tools that we refer to on the FA website. The good news is all are free (as of this writing).

PDF Reader

   PDF stands for Portable Document Format -- a standard that is pushed by Adobe. The PDF reader called Adobe Acrobat is available all over the web. Click here to go to one such download location. Adobe seems to change their download page from time to time making it difficult to find the free download vs. the one that you have to pay for. Let us know (click on link at the bottom of any of our web pages) if this link does not take you to the download site for the free reader.

Microsoft Word Viewer

Microsoft Word is the leading word processing software in the PC world but not everyone has it. You may be able to open an MS Word document with the word processor that you do have.  If not, click here to go to a site at Microsoft where you can download their Word 2003 viewer.

While looking for the Word viewer by Microsoft I also came upon a Word viewer for Linux. Click here to read about and download it.

Flight Planning Software

You need a DUATS account to use the Golden Eagle flight planning software, but both are free. Click here to download Golden Eagle.
